introducing lisette for butterick B6386

I'm always excited to share new Lisette patterns with you! As part of my mission to create a diverse range of versatile basics, Lisette for Butterick B6386 is the follow-up to our popular athletic wear pattern, Lisette B6295. I felt it would be great to have a straightforward windbreaker and a classic pair of athletic pants that could easily transition from workouts to casual wear. Both designs are practical and adaptable, just as I aim for all my patterns to be. First up is the jacket—a sleek, unlined windbreaker featuring a shaped yoke (kind of like a modified raglan sleeve that's both stylish and easy to sew). It includes shaped in-seam front pockets, elasticized cuffs, and drawstrings with stoppers at the hood and hemline (the back hem is slightly longer for added coverage). It fastens with a separating zipper. You can go for a monochrome look for a clean aesthetic or play around with color-blocking for something more playful. This is the kind of jacket I love wearing during runs, and I always toss it in my bag when traveling—it’s perfect for those unexpected showers or breezy days. Now let’s talk about the trousers. These are super comfortable, designed to sit comfortably below the waist, and come with a front and back yoke that gives them a stylish drawstring detail. They also feature front pockets and elastic at the ankles. Similar to the jacket, you can either stick to a single fabric or experiment with color-blocking. I personally adore the yoke because it subtly enhances the backside appearance, giving the illusion of a lifted look—perfect for feeling confident whether you're running errands or hitting the gym. These trousers are crafted to resemble classic sweatpants rather than trendy joggers. The main difference? The leg width. Joggers tend to taper towards the ankles, creating a snugger fit. If you prefer that tapered silhouette, I'll walk you through how to adjust the pattern. While joggers can be chic, they aren't for everyone. For the trousers, the pattern recommends French terry, but I plan to experiment by using a lightweight woven wool when I sew mine. The jacket, on the other hand, pairs beautifully with classic nylon or ripstop nylon. With so many colors and prints available in fabric stores, feel free to get creative! If you're looking for inspiration, here's my Lisette for Butterick B6386 pattern Pinterest board. I can't wait to see what you create with this pattern! It’s available now in stores and wherever Butterick patterns are sold. --- As always, I’m eager to see how you bring these designs to life. Whether you’re a seasoned sewer or just starting out, there’s something incredibly rewarding about crafting your own wardrobe pieces.
